Finding your way.

For 16+ years House of Mercy has been providing successful supportive housing to people who truly have no where else to go.  This has given us experience in helping individuals overcome the most difficult barriers we can face: Ourselves and how we perceive and relate to the world around us.

Our program is made up of 5 components.  Here’s what you can expect in the program.  If you have a housing program and are in need of infrastructure, contact us to see how you can become an affiliate of “Wayfinders”.

Intake

First impressions set the tone for entering the program.  From the first interview to arriving at the residence and getting settled in we strive to create a welcoming culture of honesty, integrity and compassion.  Our team works together to create a well cordinated and organized path to reentry.

Leaders Life

The key to success in reentry is relationships and community.  The house leaders and assistant house leaders are responsible for the community in their houses.  We offer leadership training and mentorship to equip house leaders to go to the next level in their own journey and become the leaders they were born to be.

Purpose & Planning

Weekly house meetings develop genuine connection, accountability and change.  They also give opportunity for conflict resolution and discipleship.  Participants are encouraged to find purpose in their community and plan for the future.

Issue Resolution Training

A common failure in supportive housing is inability for participants to compy with housing rules.  Lack of communication skills and understanding of personal responsibility often are the problem.  We offer our “Foundations” faith based life skill class that covers everything from communication to financial stewardship.

Faith & Fellowship

Spirituality and faith bring transformation at a core level.  Being a part of a church group has benefits in many ways.  Developing healthy values and encouraging one another brings support that many participants have not experienced.  We believe that “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” -Matt. 19:26
